Using Art for Contemplative Meditation and Inspiration

Join instructor Michael Franklin for a unique experience exploring the intersection of art and mindfulness. Through guided sessions, we will delve into how art can be a tool for contemplation and inner reflection. Paintings created by artist participants in the 2024 Boulder County Plein Air Festival will surround you and provide inspiration. The workshop will also utilize writing as part of the practice. Limited to 25 participants, 18 and older.

Michael A. Franklin, PhD, ATR-BC, is professor and past chair of the graduate Transpersonal Contemplative Art–Based Counseling program at Naropa University. His current work integrates the relationships between art therapy, art-based empathic/compassionate methods, social engagement, yoga philosophy, meditation and studio art.

Journals and art-making materials will be provided for you.Feel free to bring your own favorite materials if you like.
