About this Event
This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) apps like ChatGPT and other apps in developing an idea that could help to build any industry business plan; however, there will be a focus on addressing Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). Participants will explore how AI apps can be used to create innovative solutions that target health disparities and improve access to healthcare resources.
The course will highlight how AI app can support each phase of building a company. From financial modeling to marketing, customer development, customer discovery, and overall business strategy, AI tools will be explored as a means to optimize processes and accelerate growth.
Specifically, the course will cover:
- AI in Medical Bioscience and SDOH Solutions: Understanding the role AI plays in bioscience innovation, including disease prediction, personalized medicine, and telehealth, while addressing the root causes of health inequity linked to SDOH.
- AI in Financial Modeling: Utilizing AI platforms for financial forecasting, budgeting, and investment analysis to ensure the company remains viable and scalable while aligning with healthcare outcomes that target SDOH.
- AI in Marketing: Participants will learn how AI can help tailor marketing strategies to reach underserved populations, optimizing outreach campaigns, and improving engagement through data-driven insights.
- AI for Customer Discovery & Development: The course will guide participants on how AI-driven analytics can identify and understand the needs of the target customer, especially populations affected by SDOH. By using AI, entrepreneurs can refine their value propositions and solutions for maximum impact.
- AI for Business Acumen: AI will be presented as a key tool for decision-making and strategy development, helping participants navigate the complexities of healthcare and business challenges. It will support scenario planning, risk management, and operational efficiency.
This seminar will be hosted in person at UTRGV - Brownsville, and streamed virtually via Zoom.

He's led the sales lifecycle from Strategy development to execution, crafting winning strategies that leverage the company's core strengths.

About the Community Health Innovation Seminar Series
Presented in partnership with Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, the Community Health Accelerator is a broad initiative designed to promote awareness, research, and innovation related to the social determinants of health (SDOH). The centerpiece of the program is a specialized accelerator tailored to startups that are working to advance health equity.
Leading up to the Accelerator’s launch, VelocityTX will oversee 11 monthly educational seminars designed to cover the process of commercializing innovations that address the social determinants of health. These sessions are free to the community and aim to raise awareness of SDOH among emerging innovators, students, healthcare professionals, and the general public.
