About this Event

The USD School of Law is honored to host a hearing as part of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces Project Outreach.

It is, by the Court, this 28th day of July, 2022, ordered that the above-entitled action, United States v. Chase M. Thompson, be called for hearing at 12:00 p.m. on the 13th day of October, 2022. Each side will be allotted 20 minutes to present oral argument.

Case Summary: GCM conviction for sexual assault of a child, producing child pornography, and making a false official statement. Granted issue is did the Court of Criminal Appeals err by requiring that Appellant introduce direct evidence of his subjective belief to meet his burden for a reasonable mistake of fact defense?
