Joseph S. Fairburn -
is a visionary singer-songwriter and producer whose music blends folk, rock, country, and psychedelia into immersive, soul-stirring journeys. Known for his use of 12-string guitar, dynamic shifts, and intricate arrangements with keys, horns, and a tight rhythm section, Fairburn’s songs explore dreams, life’s mysteries, and whimsical landscapes. Backed by a talented local band, his performances are a captivating fusion of melody, imagination, and emotion, creating an unforgettable experience.
Ali Shakaki -
is an acclaimed Kurdish tanbur player and singer. He is celebrated for his playing of traditional Kurdish music, as well as his own compositions. Ali writes music for poetry about love, landscape and respect for his homeland.
He began his musical career at age eleven and was soon a highly acclaimed and well loved performer in his home country, before being forced to leave in 2014 due to the deadly war in Syria. He spent three years in Iraqi Kurdistan before coming to Australia where he is now settled with his family in Coffs Harbour. Ali is joined by Greg Sheehan on percussion, and Laura Targett on violin.
