It's a terrible title, we know. Don't let that stop you – it's a pisser of a show! The world is facing a water crisis like no other. A drought so awful that the use of private flushing toilets has become unthinkable... The people now must pay exorbitant amounts to use public amenities which are regulated by a powerful malevolent company led by a tyrannical dictator and his oligarchical cronies.
Sound depressing? Then imagine a young man, a hero, who will suddenly get hope (and love?) and rise up to plan a wee revolution to lead the people to freedom!
Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social (ir)responsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatisation of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, love, and musical theatre itself!
