WALK DETAILS
We will enjoy a walk of approximately 90 minutes around parts of Happy Valley Reservoir.
This is a moderate walk which includes some undulated trails with gradual climbs/descents. Some sections may be slippery when wet, so hiking poles could be useful.
MEET TIME/LOCATION
Please arrive at 7.45am for an 8.00am start.
Meet location is Chandlers Hill Carpark (the main entrance to Happy Valley Reservoir). This carpark is located off the roundabout of Chandlers Hill and Kenihans Road in Happy Valley.
There are toilets near the start of our walk.

Don’t forget to bring along your I.C.E. Medical Details Form which can be downloaded from our website.
If you are unable to print from home, your leader will have some spare forms with them which you can complete on the morning of the walk.
WEATHER AND GEAR

If the weather forecast is for extreme weather or a fire ban is issued for the Adelaide Hills, this walk will be cancelled the day before and fully refunded.
We will only cancel last minute (by text message and email) if there is a severe weather warning/thunderstorm warning or weather events that are likely to impact on the safety of our leaders and walkers.
Due to the variability of the weather, the following items will be needed:
- a daypack / backpack
- 1-2 litres of water
- sun protection (hat, sunnies, suncream)
- wet weather gear (check the forecast and plan accordingly!)
- blister kit/personal medication
- high energy snacks/fruit
- hiking boots / comfortable walking shoes with good grip
- layerable clothing for before/during/after the walk (eg. jumper/jacket)
- hiking poles (optional)
Please ensure you have the minimum gear required as no refunds are possible after booking. If you arrive underprepared without wet weather clothing or the gear listed above, our Leaders have the right to ask you not to walk with us for safety reasons.
Note: All our leaders carry group first aid kits, emergency communication devices and are qualified walk leaders.
OTHER INFORMATION
Our walks are all about fun, fitness and friendship - not a personal training session. If we cannot walk and talk at the same time we are walking too fast! And we never leave anyone behind.
Minimum age requirement for our walks is 18 years old (as long they are accompanied by a supervising adult). Please check with us if unsure.
For the walk to go ahead, we need a minimum of 6 walkers registered by the registration closing time (5pm the day before the walk). If a walk is cancelled due to the minimum number not being met, participants who have registered will be notified by text the evening before the walk and a refund will be given.
During our walks, photos may be taken for use publicly on our website, social media channels and e-newsletter. If you do not wish for your photo to be taken/used, please notify us via email - [email protected]
