In addition to being the childhood and home church of Urban Trendsetters founder and CEO Sharon S. Gordon, Second Baptist Church holds a significant place in history as the first and oldest Black Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Nestled in the Bronzeville District near the corner of Long Street, this historical church is considered the birthplace of several major Black churches in Central Ohio.
Throughout history, the Black Church has been a cornerstone for the Black community—a place not only for worship but also for gathering news, sharing information, and accessing vital resources.
