We’re excited to announce our September meetup at one of Buffalo’s iconic landmarks, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House!Built between 1903–1905 for Darwin D. Martin, the estate is considered a masterpiece of Wright’s Prairie style, featuring strong horizontal lines, beautiful natural materials, and sixteen individual abstract patterns of art glass. The property includes the main house, pergola, conservatory, and carriage house, all restored to their original glory.
With its striking architecture, lush gardens, and rich history, there will be no shortage of inspiration for our sketchbooks.
We’ll gather outside and sketch outside of the Martin House at 11am and then meet back around 1:00 PM for our sketch throw down to share what we’ve created. This event is open to everyone, all skill levels welcome! Just bring your favorite tools, a lawn chair and let’s get sketching!
A tour is available for purchase, through the Martin House, after the event if you are interested in exploring the inside of the house.
