Welcome to the . Workshops will take place at The MercyMed Farm located at 3802 2nd Ave, Columbus, GA 31904 (corner of 2nd Ave. and 38th St.) on the second Saturday of the month from November 2024 thru February 2025. The one hour instruction and demonstraton session starts at 1:00 pm and will be followed with hands-on farm activities such as planting, weeding, etc.
Fruit Trees & Maintenance - Session 3 of 4
On Saturday, January 11th, we'll learn more about how to keep our gardens fresh and fruity during the third session of the four part series: This Fruit Trees & Maintenance workshop is helpful for beginning and experienced gardeners. Fruit trees can be incredibly rewarding, but it takes work to get that reward year after year. Learn pruning and pest management techniques and timing for fruit trees and berries to insure a bountiful harvest.
Fredando Jackson - aka Farmer Fredo - is an urban farming and food gardening expert instructor who is passionate about sustainable agriculture and equal access to fresh locally sourced food. He will share his knowledge and spread the joys of growing farm / garden-to- table meals. You'll discover how easy it is for you to grow seasonal food in our area of southwest Georgia.
