Welcome to the . Workshops will take place at The MercyMed Farm located at 3802 2nd Ave, Columbus, GA 31904 (corner of 2nd Ave. and 38th St.) on the second Saturday of the month from November 2024 thru February 2025. The one hour instruction and demonstraton session starts at 1:00 pm and will be followed with hands-on farm activities such as planting, weeding, etc.
Cool Season Spring Crops - Session 4 of 4
On Saturday, February 8th, we're springing forward and getting ready to grow cool foods in our gardens during the fourth session of the four part series: This Cool Season Spring Crops workshop is helpful for beginning and experienced gardeners. Give in to your spring gardening fever and get outside to plant a spring vegetable garden. Learn about selecting, planting and caring for vegetables that thrive in the cool spring weather.
Fredando Jackson - aka Farmer Fredo - is an urban farming and food gardening expert instructor who is passionate about sustainable agriculture and equal access to fresh locally sourced food. He will share his knowledge and spread the joys of growing farm / garden-to- table meals. You'll discover how easy it is for you to grow seasonal food in our area of southwest Georgia.
