Upskilling in Engineering - Technical Workshops
Come join us at Conestoga's Cambridge Fountain Campus on Friday November 7th for a career-boosting event! Take your pick of two hands-on technical workshops in "Programming Industrial Robots for Productivity" or "Optimizing Design Through Experiments (DOE)". These workshops are aligned with micro credentials offered by Conestoga College that can provide you with in-demand skills through hands-on learning experiences with instruction by industry experts. This event is a collaboration between the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE), Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), and Conestoga College’s School of Engineering & Technology.
This event includes:

Workshop #1: Programming Industrial Robots for Productivity
- Get hands-on with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and discover their evolving and expanding role in Industry 4.0.
- Explore real-world applications in robotics, smart systems, and manufacturing.
- Experience a live demo of an automated system powered by PLC technology.
Workshop #2: Optimizing Design Through Experiments (DOE)
- Learn to design and run structured tests to understand factors' individual & combined effects and test hypotheses.Explore the power of Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology compared to traditional one-variable-at-a time testing.
- Learn to design and run structured tests to understand factors' individual & combined effects and test hypotheses.
- Apply findings to optimize processes for efficiency, consistency & cost savings.
