Technology is advancing at an exponential rate while wisdom is not. Science and technology have vastly improved our quality of life, yet many technological advances have also been toxic for both people and the planet. Next-generation technologies including AI, robotics, immersive media, networking, and mobile computing are placing increasing power into the hands of individuals - powers that were once only available to large corporations and nation-states. Is humanity ready for such power? How can we use technology wisely?
Ed Lantz is an electrical engineer with a background in quantum physics, aerospace engineering and immersive media art and science. He is also an interfaith minister interested in mystical experiences, spirituality and the origin and evolution of human consciousness. Ed will present his views on exponentially growing tech and the need for a corresponding exponential increase in wisdom. He will also present case studies showing how immersive experiences in the metaverse, VR and dome theaters have the potential to accelerate the evolution of consciousness on a mass scale.
