On Tuesday, Oct. 1, UPMC Altoona will hold a Walk-in Mammogram clinic at Station Medical Center, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.On this date, women who are eligible through their insurance for a screening mammogram, and who do not already have an upcoming scheduled mammogram, can receive one without an appointment. Walk-in any time between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at UPMC Altoona Imaging Services at Station Medical Center (located next to the breast health center) to receive your mammogram. A doctor's order is not needed, but we do ask that you designate a doctor at the time of screening to receive and interpret your results. If you don't have a doctor, we can help you find one. If you have health insurance, it will be billed for this screening. Women without health insurance are welcome and encouraged to come for a screening - assistance may be provided to cover the cost.
No appointment is necessary.
Screening day events will also be held at the UPMC Outpatient Center in Ebensburg on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., UPMC Bedford on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. UPMC Altoona Station Medical Center also will offer walk-in days every Tuesday in the month of October (Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29)
