Made it through the winter blues?Last time, we had the pleasure of hosting Cheb Mimo, who took us deep into the forbidden era of Raï—the raw, rebellious ‘70s and ‘80s, when the genre was banned from the airwaves. His Scopitone Story was a whole trip. And À Moi La Liberté by Cheb Hindi? Pure romance, soaked in electrified nostalgia.
Now, here it is—Uplifted Episode II is almost here. Maybe on the terrace, if the weather plays nice.
Spring is creeping in, and with it, new rhythms. This session, our friend Mogli aka DJ Mlewi will shake off the last chills of winter.
And let’s talk about DJ Mlewi. Yacine started as a self-taught VJ, crafting musico-visual experiments before stepping into the DJ booth—shaped by the hands of Analog Africa. Groove-infused, his sound flows through African funk, Latin fire, and Middle Eastern pulse. The name? A tribute to the iconic North African mlewi—round, warm, timeless, just like a vinyl spinning under the needle.
This episode is an ode to mlewi! And to make it even more special, our cheffe Karima is joining in.

في المرة إلّي فاتت، استضفنا الشاب ميمو، اللي هزنا في رحلة عميقة لزمن الرّاي الممنوع — السبعينات والثمانينات، وقت اللي كان النّوع هذا محظور في الراديو. قصة السكوبتون كانت رحلة كاملة. و"À Moi La Liberté" لشاب هندي؟ رومانسية بحتة، مشبعة بالنوستالجيا.
توا، الحلقة الثانية Uplifted على قريب. ممكن نعملوها في التراس، إذا كان الجو يسمح.
الربيع داخل بشويّة، ومعاه إيقاعات جديدة. في الجلسة هذي، صديقنا موغلي المعروف بـ DJ تروبيكال ملاوي باش يخفف علينا آخر أيامات البرد.
ونحب نحكيوا على DJ موغلي. ياسين بدا كـ VJ تعلم وحدو، وكان يعمل تجارب موسيقية بصرية قبل ما يدخل الـ DJ booth—مؤثر من Analog Africa. صوته مشبع بالغروف، ويجمع بين الفانك الإفريقي، والنار اللاتينية، ونبض الشرق الأوسط. اسمه؟ تكريم للملاوي الشمالي الإفريقي الأسطوري — دائري، دافئ، خالد، كيما الفينيل يدور تحت الإبرة.
