UPDATE is a week-long festival dedicated to emerging artists, art students, and anyone interested in integrating artistic tools and techniques into their creative practice, research, or professional work. Hosted by the Art Research Lab (MPLab) at RTU Liepāja, the festival offers an inspiring blend of workshops, masterclasses, performances, and exhibitions.Whether you’re a maker, thinker, designer, or experimental artist, UPDATE is your opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute.
🔵 Festival Theme: Blue Shift
This year’s theme, Blue Shift, invites participants to explore fluid perspectives, invisible systems, and the deep connections between bodies, ecologies, and technologies.
Throughout the week, participants will engage in:
Intensive, hands-on workshops
Skill-sharing sessions and creative labs
Cross-disciplinary knowledge exchange
Prototyping and public exhibitions of new works
If your practice involves storytelling, world-building, experimental media, or critical exploration of themes like ecology and transformation – this is the space for you.
UPDATE is designed for in-person participation, but all masterclasses are also available online.
