Join us for school holiday learning fun while helping the planet in this 1-day workshop for 8-16 year olds.
The ReCreators are partnering with our friends at Fair Food NZ and Ponsonby Community Centre to bring this unique event where we will be taking Food & Wood Resources (not waste!!) and turning them into valuable products namely:
Food
A delicious mystery dish to be decided on the day (based on food available)
Toasted sandwiches
Banana bread
Wood
A planter box for your teen's plant collection
This session will be aimed at discussing food and deconstruction waste which are huge contributors of waste to landfill and also climate warming. In the morning, participants will learn how to cook and bake with commonly wasted items. The afternoon will be dedicated to learning how to use power tools (drills & sanders) to make a design unique planter boxes
Audience: 8-16 years
Schedule: 9-12 (Food) 12-1 Shared Lunch 1-4 Woodworking
Cost: $100
Location: Ponsonby Community Centre,
Make, Take and Share Food
The food made will be shared for lunch, some can be taken home and we will also be donating some to people in need.
Join us to discuss how we can optimise resources and how climate action is linked to ensuring all materials are used to their full capacity.
