About this Event
Join us at OTL on March 4th to stitch your own beautiful and functional basket out of fabric scraps, rope and thread. After making one, you’ll want to make many more (warning: making these baskets is highly addictive!). Note that you will not complete your basket in this time, but you will have the skills, materials, and video tutorials to continue after the session.
This is a beginner friendly workshop. Your registration includes 2 hours of personalized instruction plus a video tutorial after the workshop is over (in case you get stuck). You will also receive a full kit of curated supplies, which includes a variety of coordinated textiles, thread, needle and rope. These are yours to keep.
Instead of hand or power tools, you’ll be working with hand-CRAFTING tools. We invite you to join us to slow down and connect with the rhythm of making by hand. You’ll learn a series of fun, approachable techniques to create your own unique, functional (and upcycled!) basket.
Your instructor, Carmen Bohn, wears many hats: creative entrepreneur, educator, team builder, learning designer, and fibre artist. A strong believer in the power of creative wellness, she often uses art as a way to teach, connect, and help others feel better. Carmen is excited to bring her workshop facilitation skills and creative energy to the OTL, inviting participants to explore—and perhaps fall in love with—some new tools: the tools of craft.
