Comedian bios:
Karl Spain (Ireland) - Karl has long been established as one of Ireland’s most popular comedians, from his own tours and touring with others, and has appeared at festivals all over the world. Karl has worked with some of the world's greatest comedians (his peers ahem, cough). Karl spent most of 2022 touring with Kevin Bridges because Kevin finds him very funny - or because Kevin uses Karl to remind him to keep the weight off. Hopefully the former. Karl has written for lots of comedians over the last decade or so, so you have been laughing at his jokes even when you didn't realise it. But he keeps all the best jokes for himself.
Soula Notos (Greece) - Soula is born and raised in a Greek family - crisis indeed! She knows it all by heart from growing up with shouting and relatives gesturing (small bodies, lots of movement), with the only relief being comedy. And now, close to her well-deserved pension, she loves to perform with material filled with self-mockery to as many people as possible. A legend of a storyteller with a sharp eye for details, rhythm and momentum that makes even comical twists and turns during a trip to the supermarket hilarious. She enjoys applying several layers to her stories while connecting all the dots - all the while making people laugh and moving them deeply at the same time.
Sharon Em (Ireland) - Sharon is described as ‘the funny irish woman’ by her former colleagues meanders her way through life and the planet, rarely with purpose or direction, disproving the theory that not all who wander are lost. She is the kind of no-nonsense comic that when she speaks, you listen! She knows what she wants and whose dryness catches you off guard at first, ending with a fine touch of ‘did she just say that?’ She also runs numerous comedy nights around continental Europe and is fresh off a run at the Edinburgh Fringe festival. Her best friends describe her as ‘who's that again?’
