The Punta Gorda Historical Society's the first free event (optional donations appreciated) of our new Speaker Series will feature lively presentations from two local authors, Up, Up and Away! Celebrating Women in Aviation.
Punta Gorda’s Bridges DelPonte, an award-winning author of fiction and nonfiction, will discuss her newest release, SHE SOARS: TRAILBLAZING FEMALE PILOTS IN FLORIDA, which tells fourteen stories of courageous female aviators and is a finalist for a 2024 Royal Palm Literary Award (History category) from the Florida Writers Association.
National and international bestselling Tampa author Tracey Enerson Wood will discuss her new book, KATHARINE, THE WRIGHT SISTER, a vibrant historical novel about the unsung hero behind the groundbreaking aeronautical achievement of Wilbur and Orville Wright: their sister.
Mix and mingle over wine and snacks at this free event. The two authors will answer questions following their presentations. Local favorite Copperfish Books is supporting the event offering books for author signings.
