LAZY LAZARUS
A synth beams in like a ray of light. It sounds weird for a mourning song. The almost-arcade vibe makes it even more odd, a juxtaposition of colors, a mood-swinging jam that runs fast towards the end of a tunnel.
“My Doomed Friend” is the new single by Florentine jester Lazy Lazarus. A multifaceted talent who mixed various influences in his debut LP, the fascinating and eclectic Spilt Milk, published in May 2024 by Jipo Records. Displaying a versatility informed by neopsychedelia, 60s pop and folk, 90s slacker-ish indie rock, modern jazz, lo-fi electronics and soul, Lazy Lazarus stands as one of the talents to look after in the Italian underground music scene. If you’re looking for cutting edge pop music, with bits of nostalgia and sparks of drug addled happiness, then look no further.
“You used to be good to your friends - Then you locked yourself up - You ve been far from the things that you love”, is where the meaning of the whole track lays. It’s not about the things we lost, but the things we keep ourselves away from. It’s heartbreaking but it won’t leave you in despair: it sounds almost cathartic, an ode to life and joy.
“My Doomed Friend” is also a visual tale. A video directed by Noplanetishome, where you can only see the shadows of the musicians on a stark backdrop. You can’t really see them, but they’re your friends.
To be released on 16 may 2024
SHEFOUND
Shefound is an alternative rock band born in Vicenza, Italy, in 2019.
With their new album No Big Deal (October 2025), the band embraces a rawer, punk-inspired sound: loud, edgy, and emotionally intense.
After the introspective tones of No Gravity (May 2023), No Big Deal marks a clear shift in direction: distorted guitars, sharp basslines, electronic textures, and fierce female vocals blend into a sound that feels chaotic yet intentional. It’s a record that speaks
about anger, freedom, sexual violence, and self-acceptance.
This new chapter defines Shefound’s artistic identity, a fusion of punk energy, electronic experimentation, and emotional depth.
No Big Deal isn’t just an album title; it’s a statement of intent.
The Shefound project is now focused on evolving this sound further, continuing to explore the intersection between grit and emotion, noise and vulnerability, the space where the band feels most alive.
