Norman Lindsay Gallery comes alive after dark with Devi Mamak and the Caravan Band, performing pieces from the album Ouroborus and featuring performances by guest dancers from the Caravan Dance company.________________
Devi Mamak and the Caravan Band is a brand new world fusion ensemble who perform original compositions and arrangements with a classical/ jazz flair. The band is led by classically trained pianist, composer and world renowned modern fusion belly dancer Devi Mamak.
Devi has combined her knowledge of classical music, her fascination with jazz and her love of world music to compose and arrange original new music that is mysterious, eclectic, passionate and multilayered. Sometimes soothing to soul and sometimes eminently danceable.
Each band member brings a wealth of talent and knowledge to this ensemble and helps to create a truly unique and wonderful soundscape.
