Archie Miles has been a professional photographer for almost fifty years, and began writing almost thirty years ago. With an abiding passion for the British landscape, a natural progression over these last thirty years has seen him carve a specialist niche in the world of trees. He has written and photographed nine books on the subject and contributed images to many more books and publications.
Archie has worked with several of the major tree-related organisations, including The Woodland Trust, Tree Council & Forestry Commission. His comprehensive picture library contains over 50,000 tree photographs and related historical archive material. He regularly presents illustrated talks for a variety of clients, and has occasionally worked on radio and television. He lives in rural Herefordshire with his partner Jan, Scotties “Dotty” and “Jessie” and “Eric” the cat.
