The second annual Untitled Sessions at Moondog Café on Saturday and Sunday, August 30 & 31. Untitled Sessions is Moondog’s late night afterparty and jam sessions in honor of the Detroit Jazz Festival, one of the country’s best AND the world’s largest free jazz festival.
In partnership with music production collective D.Cipher (@wearedcipher), we proudly announce two mold-shattering, virtuosic units as this year’s headlining ensembles—Hazmat Live’s (@hazmatlive) No Boundaries Quartet and the Ian Fink Trio (@finkianfink). The No Boundaries Quartet will take the helm on Saturday, August 30 and the Ian Fink Trio will follow suit on Sunday, August 31, playing sets and leading into jam sessions, open to all visiting musicians with an instrument in tow.
Bygone clubs in the neighborhood like the Hobby Bar, the Minor Key, Klein’s Show Bar & Watts Club Mozambique are just a few of the many places that held space for working artists and music fans over decades past. With humble gratitude, we carry the legacy of jazz, improvisational and creative music forward on Linwood.Untitled Sessions channels the spirit of those darkened rooms where we huddle together to savor the sound — the sound of instruments & voices woven together in ways that just can’t be replicated. You just had to be there. Join us this Labor Day weekend and hear for yourself!
Detroit food pop-ups for each of the evenings will be announced soon! In the meantime, reserve your spot for one or both nights. Doors will open at 10pm with sets at 11pm and midnight.
