About this Event
Unseen Unheard: The Untold Breast Cancer Stories of Black Women in the UK
Join us for a powerful and thought-provoking screening of the play Unseen Unheard — a Gilead Sciences–commissioned production that brings to light the lived experiences of Black women facing breast cancer in the UK.
Developed by Gilead Sciences Ltd and presented by Theatre Peckham, Unseen Unheard is written by Naomi Denny and directed by Simon Frederick and Suzann McLean.
The play shares the real stories of six women from the Black Women Rising (BWR) charity, uncovering the cultural barriers, misconceptions, and systemic inequalities that shape their cancer journeys.
This Leicester screening aims to open up honest conversations around breast cancer awareness, representation, and access to care for Black women — issues that are too often overlooked.
