Each week, we’ll explore core principles of improv and apply them to real-life challenges. Julie will guide you through exercises that build confidence and refine your craft week by week.In Julie’s supportive, dynamic space, you’ll embrace creativity, collaboration, and communication. Improv isn’t just fun—it cultivates real-life skills: spontaneity, effective communication, active listening, creative problem-solving, risk-taking, storytelling, and collaboration. Whether stepping outside your comfort zone or refining your skills, you’ll grow each session—while having fun!
Over six weeks, Julie will help you think on your feet, tap into your playful side, and discover how teamwork beats ego every time. You’ll practice “yes, and...,” tell compelling stories, and create actionable steps. Above all, Julie will show you the power of agreement—where each idea becomes a stepping stone to brilliance.
By the end, those who feel ready will have the option to perform live at a showcase for an audience—bringing all these skills to life!

Instructor Bio: Julie LeBlanc is an actor, director and producer. Julie has been performing since her first production in 1983, continuing on to receive awards for both acting and directing. Julie attended University of Calgary where she studied theatre/psychology while training with the prestigious improv facilitators at Loose Moose Theatre. Upon her return to Peterborough, Julie worked in the Mental Health field for over 23 years but found time to create P.I.G-Peterborough Improv Group in 1996 enjoying over 12 successful years entertaining audiences in the Peterborough area. Most recently, Julie has moved to Collingwood to marry the man of her dreams and Her love for this community is plain to see. In May 2013 Julie founded the C.I.A. –Collingwood Improv Artists, providing comedy entertainment to the Georgian Bay Area. Humor plays a large part in Julie’s outlook on both life and theatre as she maintains the motto “You’re not in trouble if it’s funny” Julie was the host of Georgian Bay Life on RogersTV Collingwood until the show’s conclusion in 2020. Currently Julie is teaching drama and improv unless she is on tour with Shipyard Kitchen Party Productions! SKP has enjoyed touring Ontario performing award winning shows such as Tom Thomson’s Wake (Winnifred Trainor role) and 100 Years From Now (role of Margaret McIntyre). Julie’s favourite current project is coaching and managing the young comedy duo Sunny Sidekicks
