"Sentenced" is a 70-minute documentary examining children's literacy barriers and their potential long-term consequences. The film reveals concerning disparities in literacy access across demographic groups, highlighting both individual and societal costs associated with these educational inequities. The film will be shown at the UNR Center for Learning and Literacy, followed by a panel discussion. The event is co-sponsored by Kid Scoop News, a monthly newspaper for elementary school children, and the Zonta Club of Silicon Valley.
