RED X author David Demchuk returns to talk about some early instances of queer and trans representation in horror; how horror as a genre has evolved in recent years to incorporate queer and trans themes and aspects of queer and trans experiences; if horror is still reinforcing homophobia and transphobia in subtler ways; whether positive, assimilative or realistic representation are (or even should be) the goals in creating queer horror; the virtues and challenges of queer monstrosity; and what new directions queer horror might take as the genre itself continues to mutate and evolve.
