In today's fast-paced world filled with so much background noise, we rarely get moments of silence. Silence allows us to process our thoughts and the things going on. Without these moments, our thoughts build up, making the silence louder and more uncomfortable than ever. What if you were okay with your thoughts? What if you could enjoy a car ride without music or a podcast to occupy your mind?
This community growth group, a setup similar to group therapy, can help you discover the benefits of being mindful and taking time to be in the quiet. Mindfulness can help reduce stress and anxiety by increasing your ability to regulate emotions while concentrating on accepting the moment (American Psychological Association, 2019). This results in more flexibility in your day-to-day life, decreasing your daily stressors."
Through this 8-week course, we will examine mindfulness and its benefits in depth, what keeps us from being mindful today, and, of course, practice the skill of unplugging from background noise and being cautious.
