UNODC briefing on the latest synthetic drug trends in East and Southeast Asia The synthetic drug market in East and Southeast Asia continued to expand through 2021, with organized crime groups intensifying and diversifying production and trafficking. In response to this, UNODC will provide an in-depth briefing on its new report, Synthetic Drugs in East and Southeast Asia: Latest Developments and Challenges 2022, explaining the latest data and indicators, and highlighting key changes, trends, and cases.
The session will be moderated by UNODC National Programme Officer, Suchaya Mokkhasen, and opened by Jeremy Douglas, UNODC Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific and Thanakorn Kaiyanunta, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board of Thailand. Regional Representative, Jeremy Douglas, and Regional Synthetic Drugs Analyst, Kavinvadee Suppapongtevasakul, will brief on the report and take questions.
