About this Event
Natalie is a local feminist poet, educator, and school psychology student dedicated to cultivating emotionally safe schools for autistic students and staff.
This book club will prioritize autistics and those au-curious (like bi-curious) who are interested in self- discovery, affirmation, and assertion in a supportive environment with others. This event welcomes those seeking to understand, empower, and build solidarity with autistics. It will be useful for helping professionals to grow cultural competency and accurately recognize autistic experiences, strengths, and needs. The nature of the book club will be summarizing key points from each chapter, having discussion, and reflective journaling in prompts incorporated throughout the book. Attendees should come as they are; aim to read the chapter before meeting, but do not worry if not.
