WORKSHOP #1: Unlocking Your Future - Preparing for Auditions, Competitions and Career
Join Trio Ariél—Elliot Wuu (piano), Eric Tsai (violin), and Sara Scanlon (cello) for the first of two informative workshops designed to guide students and families through the next steps of a musical journey, from conservatory auditions to international competitions to long-term career development.
All three members of Trio Ariel are graduates of The Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music on full scholarship, among the most selective conservatories in the world. Collectively, they are winners and prize recipients of over 35 major national and international competitions, have appeared as soloists and chamber musicians on renowned stages such as Carnegie Hall, Davies Symphony Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Kimmel Center and perform regularly throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Drawing from their personal experiences navigating their training and professional careers, Trio Ariel will share practical, honest insight into:
- Preparing for pre-college, college, and conservatory auditions
- Repertoire choices, practice strategies, and effective preparation timelines
- What adjudicators listen for in auditions and competitions
- Managing performance pressure and developing artistic confidence
- Building a career beyond school: festivals, chamber music, and long-term growth
- How parents can best support young musicians throughout the process
- Creating and growing relationships with mentors and colleagues that will last a lifetime
