Join us for a roundtable discussion on attracting private capital for community-driven climate projects in the Northern San Joaquin Valley.
About this Event

Event Description:

Communities in the Northern San Joaquin Valley (San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced counties) have been working to develop community-driven climate projects that bolster economic opportunity. With emerging shifts in climate finance to focus on benefiting disadvantaged communities, including the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), relationship building between these communities and private capital providers is essential. This event aims to bring together financial institutions with focus and potential for investment in the greater Northern San Joaquin Valley region to lay the necessary groundwork to eventually direct capital to these community-driven climate projects.

Event Purpose:

  1. Identify and build relationships with key regional intermediaries and private capital providers with a footprint in the Northern San Joaquin Valley.
  2. Discuss and explore opportunities for community investment, including upcoming green financing opportunities through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
  3. Prime private capital providers for investment opportunities and uplift community organizations and projects in the Northern San Joaquin Valley.

Desired Outcomes:

  1. Working relationships are built such that future investment opportunities can be accessed.
  2. Investors are more knowledgeable about the ecosystem in the Northern San Joaquin Valley and willing to explore community investment opportunities
  3. Regional intermediaries have a better understanding of what banks and capital providers are looking for in investment opportunities.
  4. Better understanding of investment criteria is understood, and opportunities for future match-making emerge.

Please note that in the spirit of keeping the roundtable discussion-oriented, this event is invite-only and the invitation is non-transferable.

Parking + Accessibility:

There will be parking spaces available (including accessible parking spaces) in the private lot next to the Valley First Credit Union building at 1419 J St., Modesto.

The building and the conference room are also wheelchair accessible.
