Somatic Yoga is different from a regular yoga class. The pace is slower and more connected to embodiment through breath with guidance to assist your internal awareness. Specialized practices that focus on the polyvagal approach of nervous system regulation are used throughout the class, along with somatic based movement. You won't find stretching or strenuous activities.
If you are one of the many who have experienced a love/hate relationship with yoga, have found it creates more physical pain in your body, or struggle with the stillness within the practice, you may find more benefit from Somatic Yoga Therapy with the core focus of nervous system regulation.
