Unlimited Devotion: Celebrating the Music of the Grateful Dead

Unlimited Devotion (aka UD) was conceived in April 2012 as a vehicle for exploring the Grateful Dead’s songbook. The band quickly developed a dedicated following and has steadily evolved its repertoire, personnel, and musical personality to reflect its current members’ jazz and funk influences.
UD has as a reputation for delivering energized, adventuresome performances and has made the quintet one of the top drawing acts in the Southeast. UD’s show contains music from the entire Dead catalogue. Attendees get a history of the Grateful Dead through the different era’s. Members of UD have performed with the likes of Little Feat, Oteil Burbridge, Eric McFadden, Roosevelt Collier and Others. UD has been a regular fixture on the jam band circuit for many years and has always been a fan favorite.
Rhino records (GD Label) produces Grateful Dead Nights at arenas and stadiums throughout the country, teaming up with professional sports teams to combine music and sports. UD has been hired as the tribute act to perform at “The Florida Panthers Official Grateful Dead Night” for the last seven years running! The Stanley Cup champions have a long history with the music of the Grateful Dead with a number of players attending the performances after the game. In 2023 and 2024 The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels secured UD for their official Grateful Dead Nights as well. A badge of honor for the band, they always enjoy teaming up with the NHL and other professional sports organizations to put on these joint events sanctioned by the Grateful Dead organization and Rhino Records.
In 2024, Unlimited Devotion was invited to be a part of a collaborative album featuring Oteil Burbridge , Dave Nelson (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Dark Star Orchestra and other notable musicians to highlight their own interpretations of classic Grateful Dead Songs. Only 10 musical ensembles were selected to join Oteil and Dave Nelson to be a part of this groundbreaking album . In July of 2024, “The Music Plays the Band” was released on Amazon and all streaming platforms to fan and critical acclaim. UD’s contribution to the album was their interpretation of “Half Step Mississippi Uptown Toodeloo” which drew them further national attention.
In February 2018, Unlimited Devotion produced and performed Dead & Company’s pre-concert and post concert party on Orlando’s famed Church Street. City officials estimated 5000 and 7000 attendees at the respective events, making it the biggest block party in Orlando’s history and earning UD national attention. UD was also named one of the top 4 most influential jam bands in Florida by Miami New Times Magazine in 2018 (along with Roosevelt Collier, The Heavy Pets and Snarky Puppy).
UD performs two sets in similar style to the Grateful Dead shows of the 70’s-90’s. Expect a trip through the different era’s of the Grateful Dead, from Viola Lee Blues to Althea , UD explores the entire songbook.
