About this Event
The Scottish Ambulance Service are committed to providing Practice Education opportunities to BSc Paramedic students from each of the five allied Universities across Scotland: Glasgow Caledonian University, Queen Margaret University, Robert Gordon University, University of Stirling, University of the West of Scotland.
This Preparation for Practice Education day has been developed by all five of these universities to provide all Scottish Ambulance Service Practice Educators and paramedics who wish to become Practice Educators an opportunity to learn about supporting BSc Paramedic students on placement.
The sessions will be delivered in person (face to face) and we will support you to attend (details below).
You can claim overtime, TOIL or request a shift redeployment to attend these sessions, however discuss this first with your line manager to find out local arrangements.
Key areas that will be covered on the day include:
* Why be a Practice Educator, what's their role?
* Differences in learning, what makes BSc different?
* FAIR assessments, and some of the many ways to assess learning.
* Supporting the failing and/or challenging student.
* Supporting the Practice Educator.
Each University will be hosting the Preparation for Practice Education day, so if this date or location does not suit, look out for more coming soon.
Please remember that places are limited, so if you sign up and are unable to attend, let us know ASAP so we can offer the space to someone else.
