UNIVERSAL SALT AND OT TWILIGHT SESSION- ACCESSIBLE ENVIRNOMENTS

This face-to-face two-part training offer provides an immersive learning opportunity

focusing on universal strategies that scaffold children's understanding and engagement within their environment.

Session one will provide delegates with the tools to:

• Complete a functional audit of a learning environment
• Understand communication and sensory friendly values
• Learn how the environment sets the foundations for our social, emotional and
• mental health
• Learn how to create a space that supports children to feel safe, seen and heard
• Learn how to balance the demands of creating usable multifunctional spaces while meeting children’s needs
• Plan their own communication and sensory friendly environments

Session two will offer delegates the opportunity to share and reflect on the practical

application of strategies from session one. Speech and language therapy and Occupational therapy will offer feedback and guidance to review practice and answer any

questions and break down any barriers to effective practice.
