UNITY TIMES Quarterly Dialogue is a public forum that attracts men, women, and young people, especially policymakers and changemakers, every quarter to discuss the unity of Nigeria amidst diversity. It is designed to discuss topical issues that affect the unity and strength of Nigeria and the importance of diversity in nation-building and growth.
The theme of the Dialogue is DIVERSITY IN NATION BUILDING and the topic of each Quarterly Discourse is mostly offshoots of issues bothering national unity as it is currently faced.
Speakers and Panelists are selected after due deliberation and consultations by the Unity Times Editorial Board, Management and Partners.
The participation is open to targeted members of the public through registration, selection, and the formal invitation process.
The Quarterly Dialogue is built up to the yearly UNITY TIMES LECTURE SERIES, held every December.
This Edition is titled: Nigerian Identity: Ethnic, Religion?
As Nigerians revert to the old National Anthem: 'Nigeria, we hail thee... though tribe and tongue may differ’, what does it mean, and how does it address a Nigerian Identity question? What is the role of ethnicity and religion in a Nigerian Identification, Recruitment or Population process? Is being a Hausa-Muslim or Igbo-Christian more important than being a Nigerian? Is State of Origin more important than Place of residence? This Dialogue raises these questions.
