Our UNITY Influencer, Michael Baisden, is a New York Times Best Selling author of eight books. His most recent work, Don’t Lie To Me: A Journey To Transparency is a lesson about how self-truth and complete honesty in your relationships can transform every aspect of your life!
Now retired from national radio, Michael was one of the most influential personalities in history. He recruited a record number of mentors with 100 Black Men, Fraternities and Sororities and Big Brother and Big Sisters. The organization named an annual award after him for his work. Two of Michael’s book have been adopted to stage plays, Men Cry In The Dark, which starred the late Richard Roundtree and The Maintenance Man, starring the iconic Billy Dee Williams. Baisden also hosted two national television shows, Talk Or Walk, and Baisden After Dark.
He now spends his time writing books, hosting his Baisden After Dark Podcast, and traveling the world with his travel club.
Baisden is also an accomplished real-estate investor and commutes from his homes in Orlando and Las Vegas. Michael says, “I’m an entrepreneur, activist, and producer more than anything else!” he added. “Writing books and hosting radio and TV is just another way to impact people, that’s all I ever cared about!”

Throughout her career, Monica has earned industry recognition from national and local entities including Billboard’s Top Programmer Nominee & Urban Radio Programmer of the Year, Central Florida Association of Black Journalists Lifetime Achievement Award, Orlando Magazine's "Best Of” feature as a Community Leader, and was recently inducted into the NationalBlack Radio Hall of Fame.
As principal consultant with Monica May Communications, she has evolved into a highly sought-after speakerand coach on an array of topics from
Public Speaking, Community Relations, Professional Team Building, to College & Career Readiness. Her clients include the Orlando Magic, Orange County Government, and the Center for Change.
Her non-profit program, Let’s Spill the Tea, came to life after a heart-to- heart with her daughter, Monique,while navigating tough conversations as a teen. Together they co-authored, . Through the organization, they host workshops & retreats for families.
Monica resides in Orlando with her husband George, and together they own CB Bistro, a live music venue, restaurant, and catering company. In this next phase of her career, Monica has turned on the mic once again to host Point of View, a community focused talk show and Soul School Sunday, a reminiscent music set, which both air on STAR 94.5 (WCFB-FM). She also hosts an “edutainment” podcast,One Take Live which is available on YouTube and Spotify.
