Talented youth from the greater Springfield/ Hartford area ages 12 - 20 bring to life Sondheim's fairy tale musical mash-up about wishs, and choices. This journey of twists and turns asks the actors and audience alike to consider the stories we're told and carry as we figure out our life's path. Staged in an intimate performing space, the production makes use of our forest surroundings and brings the audience and outdoors into the action. The theater lobby will feature Smithsonian Traveling Exhibits about our shared American Story, and how journeys and the stories we're told (or not told) are part of our history and future.
Both reserved assigned seats (premium viewing spots) and general seating are offered for the show. Premium seats are first-come, first-serve and will be assigned to the first 60 tickets purchased for the show. Special requests should be noted on your ticket order form. We will do our best to accommodate you.
The show is presented in its entirety - this is not the YOUTH version, but the full-length musical running approximately 3 hours. The second act contains darker and more mature themes and is not recommended for young children. Leaving at intermission with young children is perfectly acceptable and offers a reassuring fairy-tale ending.
Concessions and raffle tickets will be sold during intermission. A special "Ploughman's Picnic" is available by PRE-PURCHASED tickets only, and is the only food that is allowed to be consumed in the theater space. Ticket buyer will be sent a link to make their food selections.
