Ahoy me Mateys! Come aboard and join us for a pirate themed dance. Along with bringing fellow crew members, you are encouraged to bring a small treasure to share with your fellow pirates (on this ship we do steal dances and trade the rest of our treasures). Throw on your best pirate attire as we set sail for an amazing night of social partner dancing...but that's not all...We are going to have LIVE MUSIC from one of the best DJ/Performers in the entire Fusion Scene. Josh Gronner of Laughing Matters is going to be taking us into a whole new world tonight. Here's a bit about Laughing Matters in their own words:
"GREETINGS! My name is Josh. I make noise. I produce a brand of original tunes known as “Laughing Matters” whose sound can only be described as the sweet hot nectar of genre-hopping sound-candy thwomp-sauce with melted chocolate and extra cuddles. Due to the awesomeness of friends and fans like you, I have been lucky enough to play these tunes all over the world, on a life-long mission to wiggle the booties of the galaxy. Cost: This is a community generated event, your money goes directly to paying DJs, teachers, and the venue. We operate on a sliding scale with an estimated cost per person of $14 on a typical night. As this is a Live Music Night and has higher costs for us, we humbly ask that you consider giving more so we can be really good to Josh and his partner Cc.
What:
Fusion Partner Dancing is an ever-evolving dance style that pulls from various dance styles, cultures, and techniques. This creates a unique dance with each partner as you fuse your styles with your partner and the music.
Never danced before? No worries, ALL skill levels are welcome.
Music: We enjoy dancing to all types of music. If it makes you want to move, you might hear it here. Afro-Beats, Blues, Latin, Alt-electronic music, remixes, covers and mash-ups all find a home in Fusion Dancing events.
