Yemanjo is a project of producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist Ben Harris. Raised in the rich culture of California’s Bay Area, Harris’ work is influenced by the global music styles he has encountered through extensive world travels. Inspired by ethnic music from around the world and his own international travels, Yemanjo’s sound is a unique fusion of downtempo and organic house beats with traditional sounds from Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. The previous five years have seen Yemanjo touring the globe while releasing prolifically with top labels in the genre such as Cosmic Awakenings and Cafe de Anatolia. 2024 saw the release of “La Misma Fuente”, an acclaimed full length album on NYC-based imprint Wonderwheel Recordings. Yemanjo brings a refreshing sonic diversity and decades of experience as a dynamic live performer and frontman, combining his original music with live singing in many languages, trumpet, percussion and other instruments in an electro-acoustic hybrid DJ/live set. https://soundcloud.com/yemanjo
SHAKTI RISING, aka Sitara has been a dancer her whole life, deeply devoted for the last 25 years. She has spent 14 years in the worldwide network of the Ecstatic Dance scene, including Lake Atitlan Guatemala, Bali Indonesia, Portland, Ashland, Mt. Shasta & Eugene OR, upstate NY & Maui HI, as well as at an abunDance of Transformational Music Festivals & gatherings over the years. She passionately knows the power of music & embodiment as a path to healing, empowerment & liberation through dance & yoga, practice & play ~ to open the body, activate energy channels, get the shakti rising & release energy in a positive and healthy way, while reconnecting to one’s Body, Heart, Soul & Spirit ! *** Shakti Rising weaves a diverse full spectrum tapestry of yummy, conscious, high vibe Tribal & World Beats/Bass, Temple/Medicine Bass, Organic infused Electronic, Sacred soundscapes & Elemental infusions, aiming for Ecstatic and Next Level musical musings ~ Born & raised in Portland OR, Sitara is the founder & curator behind Unity Ecstatic Dance Ashland since it began 4.5 years ago. She offered her first 3 Ecstatic Dance sets in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala in 2012. Shakti Rising creates a rich & dynamic dance journey to activate opening, release, healing, expansion, juicyness, playfulness, transmution of dense energy and ultimately transcending into heart opening realms of blissfull ecstatic liberation.
