United We Stand Live

Andy Mitten and Brian McClair

Chatting all things United past and present.

Brian ‘Choccy' McClair as a player, he was a forward from 1980 to 1998, notable for his near 11-year spell at Manchester United where he won 14 trophies including four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

Brian McClair booked his place in the annals of Old Trafford history when he became the first player since George Best to score 20 league goals for the Reds. Brian is ranked 15th in Manchester United’s all-time top goalscorers. He later coached United's Youth Academy between 2006 and 2015.

Andy Mitten is a journalist and author. He founded the best-selling United We Stand fanzine as a 15-year-old. A journalism graduate, he's interviewed over 500 famous footballers past and present. His work has taken him to over 100 countries, writing about football from Israel to Iran, Brazil to Barbados. Born and bred in Manchester, he divides his time between his city of birth and Barcelona, Spain.

First published in 1989 when Manchester United was very different to the corporate beast it has become, United We Stand is an independent voice of Manchester United supporters.

The majority of UWS writers watch Manchester United home and away and the mag has long been established as one of Britain's best-selling football fanzines.

Influential, incisive, irreverent and proudly independent, UWS tells it like it is. You might not always agree with the opinions within, but you'll take note.

The mag has carried in depth interviews with United related personalities from Jose Mourinho, Erik Ten Hag, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Roy Keane to Ian Brown, Sir Alex Ferguson to officials like David Gill, Martin Edwards and Peter Kenyon,. As we move into our third decade of publication, UWS is still going strong.
