The United Way of Yellowstone County is joining hands with Family Promise for an annual Diaper Drive initiative, aimed at supporting the Community Diaper Bank. The diaper drive is a significant contribution to the bank, helping meet the continually increasing need for diapers and wipes in Yellowstone County.• The Diaper Drive is organized to assist families struggling with the high average monthly cost of diapers and wipes, which ranges from $150-$200 per child.
• Almost 47% of families in the U.S. are forced to choose between essential bills and buying diapers, highlighting the critical need for this initiative.
• Donations of diapers (especially size 4 and 5), wipes, or monetary contributions are encouraged to support the community's smallest members.
• In 2023, Family Promise assisted 3,933 families and distributed 215,000 diapers through their community diaper bank and partner agencies.
• The goal for this year is to collect 50,000 diapers. Monetary donations are also highly appreciated as the Community Diaper Bank can purchase three diapers for the cost of one.
• Donation drop-off is scheduled for April 19th from 11 am to 6 pm at the United Way office, 2173 Overland Ave.
