Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel will headline the Disaster Resilience Forum on Saturday, November 15 at 9:00 a.m. at the University of South Alabama MacQueen Alumni Center. Cantore, one of the most recognized meteorologists in the country, has reported on many of the nation’s most significant storms, including Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, Irma, Dorian, and Michael. Since joining The Weather Channel in 1986, he has earned national recognition for his expertise in disaster preparedness and resilience and has become a trusted voice during times of crisis.
Presented by United Way of Southwest Alabama and Verizon as part of the Disaster Resilience Initiative, the forum will also feature a panel discussion with local experts on preparedness and recovery. A Verizon representative will introduce Cantore before his keynote address, which will be followed by an audience Q&A session. Attendees will also have the chance to win prizes during the event.
