Founded in August of 2021, Union Avenue has brought gritty rockabilly, jump blues and old-style country music to audiences across the Midwest. The recipe of astounding vocals supported by vintage electric guitar, upright “slap style” bass, and rock-inspired drums has been an instant success at venues and festivals alike.

The energy and vibrance of the early 1950’s birth of rockabilly is showcased as is rowdy jump blues in lively shows that include rare, unissued songs from the “Sun Records” era as well as new interpretations of more recent cuts, not only from the United States, but also from impressive artists from around the world.

Christopher Myers fronts the band in 1950’s era clothing which brings an authentic visual element to the stage, while his incredible vocals sonically capture the audience. Supported by hypnotizing slap bass rhythms by Steve Knecht and driven by the powerful drumbeats of Francis Lucente, song after song draws the audience in, wondering what will happen next.

Union Avenue has been included on the bill for prestigious national festivals such as SYMCO (Wisconsin), Vintage Torquefest (Iowa), Eastside Rockin’ Rumble (Nashville, TN), and soon Marysville Hotwheels Weekend (Michigan). They were seen on the stage of the Ameripolitan Award Weekend (Austin, TX).

They have been the opening act for Big Sandy and his Fly Right Boys, Wayne “The Train” Hancock, and soon Lee Rocker (of Stray Cats fame). They have been featured in “BopFlix” videos and reviewed in “Now Dig This” magazine in the U.K.. Union Avenue has just been booked for a three-week European Tour for Fall 2025.

Union Avenue’s catalog has a 45rpm vinyl EP (four songs) and a companion CD of 8 cover tunes recorded at the Custom Recording Studio. The band’s self-produced video for “Uranium Rock” has over 10,000 views world-wide. Union Avenue has also just released a vinyl LP “Moonlight Madness” of 10 original songs accompanied by another self-produced video for “Hot Rod Queen” which has thousands of views on YouTube.
