Unincorporated Territory: An Evening with Craig Santos Perez and Stephen Prutsman

We invite you to an intimate evening of poetry, live music, and conversation, bringing together the powerful voice of Craig Santos Perez and the extraordinary musical artistry of Stephen Prutsman.

Craig Santos Perez

Craig Santos Perez is an award-winning Chamoru poet, essayist, and professor whose work explores themes of Indigenous identity, colonialism, diaspora, environmental justice, and resistance. Born and raised in Guam, Perez is best known for his ongoing poetry series Unincorporated Territory, which weaves personal history with political critique and cultural memory.

His writing has received wide national and international recognition, including an American Book Award, and has been featured in numerous literary journals and anthologies. Perez’s work is celebrated for its lyrical intensity, formal innovation, and deep commitment to Indigenous sovereignty and storytelling.

Stephen Prutsman

Stephen Prutsman is an acclaimed pianist, composer, and educator whose work blends classical tradition with contemporary and interdisciplinary collaboration. A Yale University graduate, he has performed widely as a soloist and chamber musician and is a longtime faculty member at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music." - where did you get the "longtime faculty member at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music" from? was it just some hallucination? also I don't understand why "Yale graduate" is relevant for a bio advertising a musician for a performance.
