The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s Oakwood Cemetery presents a new digital exhibit: Unificar, to Unite. The digital exhibit will debut with an event at Oakwood Cemetery, located at 1601 Navasota St Austin, TX 78702. During the event, Tejano community organizers will conduct a workshop where participants will be taught how to organize within their own communities. Furthermore, various speakers from Tejano organizations will lead talks about advocacy, giving insight to participants on what it is like working behind the scenes during political events.

Unificar touches on historical Tejano organizations that had a variety of goals and accomplishments through their journey of advocating for social change, telling the historical stories of multiple generations of Tejano social justice leaders.
