Jezzine: Etymology: Aramaic-Syriac origin, "Gazin", meaning "stores, depots, reserves"
It is said that Jezzine was the granary of the Phoenicians, the place where they hid their treasures. This small town-like village, famous for its cutlery craftsmanship, its 70m high waterfalls and its breathtaking view of one of the largest pine forests in the Mediterranean basin, is considered to be now the first summer destination of South Lebanon. It stands out for its remarkable buildings, including the Ottoman-style municipal palace, the Serhal Palace, which houses a collection of valuable antiques, its churches, its convents, some of which date from the eighteenth century, and its old paved souk where many cutlery artisans expose their work.

🏃Distance : ±10 km.
📈Uphill: 175 m.
📉Downhill: 175 m.
⛰️Scenery: Top view on jezzine village passing by Dr.Farid Serhal Palace with a view on tawmet Jezzine passing by small oak forest and the vineyard of karam winery 🍷.
Finish with a small tour in the old souk and the old traditional cutlery.(سكاكين جزين)

-Dinner at "Al Shallal” restaurant enjoying dancing 💃& music 🎶

Sunday 6 April:
🍳Breakfast at the hotel at 7:30am
Check out at 8:30am / 9 am o’clock
and waiting the group coming from Beirut to start the hike from Niha to Jezzine.

🏃Distance: 12/13 km.
📈Uphill: 200 m .
📉Downhill: 250 m.
⛰️Scenery : beautiful view on tawmet Niha . Waterfalls .
We will pass inside a colored sand canyon. Finish with a top view on the biggest pine forest in the Middle East.

- Healthy snacks
- Hat

💰Contribution: 120$ (including transportation, guidance, accommodation in double room (Iris flower hotel), Dinner (with Dj) & breakfast, hike 2 days, local guide, energy snacks, coffee, and first aid kit but does not include medical insurance)
