About this Event

Undesirable Secrets: A Powerful WWII Drama

Experience a gripping and unforgettable theatrical event with Undesirable Secrets, a critically acclaimed one-person drama written and performed by Lubbock native Rodolfo Alvarado.

This extraordinary play tells the true story of Anthony Acevedo, a WWII combat medic, former POW, and the first Mexican American registered as a Holocaust survivor. Through raw emotion and vivid storytelling, Undesirable Secrets brings to life Acevedo’s harrowing journey—his survival in a Nazi concentration camp, his resilience in the face of unimaginable hardship, and his lifelong battle with the painful memories he was ordered to forget.

Haunted not only by the horrors of war but also by the scars of an abusive father, Acevedo’s story is one of endurance, justice, and the struggle to reconcile a painful past. His journey is a testament to the power of resilience, the weight of silence, and the courage it takes to break free from the chains of history.

With its powerful themes of sacrifice, trauma, and redemption, Undesirable Secrets sheds light on an often-overlooked chapter of history, offering audiences a moving exploration of the past and its lasting impact. Don’t miss this compelling theatrical experience that honors the strength of the human spirit.
