Online pre-learning, SATURDAY 13th July 2024 (optional 14 July diving)WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Through a combination of online, in-person learning and a historic experience, this course will provide an introduction to the recording and analysis of modern steel and iron shipwrecks (post 1850). Beginning with 4 hours of online learning videos and a live online discussion session, participants will get a thorough grounding in metal ship construction techniques, terminology and ship parts. This learning will be put into practice on the functioning historic vessel SS Shieldhall through morning activities and then participants will then see the ship underway on an afternoon cruise. Friends and family are welcome to join the cruise for an additional cost. There is an option to dive on amazing metal wrecks SS Camswan and SS Luis on Sunday 14 July.
